KITCHEN NEWS

A few weeks ago, Mrs. Brookes’ 5th grade class harvested beautiful radishes from our school garden and delivered them to the cafeteria. Those delicious radishes were served fresh in the salad bar just hours after being harvested! The May cooking kitchen is now available — Click here to view.

MES FUNDRAISING – ARE YOU SIGNED UP?

Our two major fundraisers this school year (Otter Walk and Otter Ball) were tremendous successes!  We appreciate all the enthusiastic support that makes Montclair Elementary School a great place for our kids. So let’s keep the momentum going.  As we go into summer, we can continue to support the school in different ways:

1. Corporate Matching: Before the school year ends, find out if any of your past donations this year qualify for a corporate match from your employer.

2. Corporate Volunteer Grants: Many of the same companies that offer corporate matching also have programs to grant money to our school if you log your volunteer hours.  Please contact your HR department to see if your employer offers these grants.

3. Shopping: These shopping rebate programs add up to meaningful contributions to our school.

  • Amazon.com: Go to Smile.Amazon.com to link your Amazon account with our school.  We get a small rebate with every qualified purchase you make.
  • Target: We get 1% of your Target purchases if you register your Target Red Card to our school.  Visit www.target.com/tcoe. We are earning $1,200/year, with only 41 Red Cards enrolled.
  • Lucky/Save Mart: If you don’t already have one, pick up a Lucky’s SHARES card from the office.  We are earning $6,000/year from Lucky’s SHARES.

With nearly 600 families in the MES community, we can really ramp up these numbers if we all participate! Encourage your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and relatives to participate in these shopping programs as well.
