BIKE RODEO AT MES

Attention MES kids and families: You are invited to bring your bikes to school on Sunday, April 24, 11am-2pm, for our first-ever Bike Rodeo!  We have lots of fun activities planned for everyone including bike decorating, how-to stations, demonstrations, hands-on skills training from the folks at Safe Routes to School, and more.  If your bike needs some basic repairs, bring it down and let the folks from the Alameda County BikeMobile fix it up!  Keep an eye out for the flyer coming soon around campus, with event details. In the meantime, mark your calendars! This is one event you won’t want to miss.

TRAILS CHALLENGE: WHO CAN COVER THE MOST MILES?

Here’s another great outdoor activity for the whole family – explore our beautiful East Bay Regional Park District through Trails Challenge 2016! Challenge your students and their friends! Get outside and explore the beautiful trails in our East Bay Regional Parks. All grades and fitness levels can participate! Hike, skip, run, bike or skate your way to victory!  Students are encouraged to log miles covered for a chance to win an MES Hoodie. The student with the most miles logged wins. One winner per grade. MES Trails Challenge will run April 3 – May 27. Look for the event flyer in your student’s Green Folder this week for more information. See you all on the trails!

LOOKING FOR FUN-LOVING CREATIVE TYPES

Family Fun Day is our school’s grand end-of-the-year picnic. Our FFD team is looking for a few parents to chair this event for the 2016-2017 school year. If outdoor fun is your thing, then Family Fun Day is for you.  This event allows you to unleash your creativity and create a fun-filled event that has been a highlight of our school community over the years. Let’s keep this tradition going! If you are interested or would like to learn more, please contact A’sonda Adams at iencourageyou2@aol.com.
