MONTCLAIR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WEEKLY NEWSLETTER – FEBRUARY 11, 2015 VOL. 22

FEB 18 PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT — NEW LOCATION

Please join us on Wednesday, February 18, 7-8pm, at the Montclair Women’s Club (1650 Mountain Boulevard) to hear Nina Senn, our new school board representative (and Montclair parent), and members of the Superintendent’s team share and answer questions about what Work to Rule is and its impact from a programmatic and student support perspective, discuss the Pathway to Excellence, and provide a Budget Overview. Parents, guardians and teachers are welcome. As this meeting has been expanded to include surrounding schools, we can no longer provide dinner and childcare. To RSVP for this event, please click here

ADDITIONAL PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT — FEBRUARY 25

One week after we hear from Nina Senn and our OUSD representatives on the state of the district, we will host an additional parent information night on Wednesday, February 25, 7-8pm at the Montclair Women’s Club to hear directly from Montclair teachers. Both teachers and a representative from the OEA (Oakland Educational Association) will present information to parents to further our understanding of the issues. We hope both parent information sessions are informative and constructive ways to share information with our community.

OTTER BALL COUNTDOWN

Six weeks away! The Otter Ball is getting closer! We hope to see you at our wonderful MES fundraising event,March 28 at the Berkeley City Club (www.berkeleycityclub.com). And by the way – the venue’s restaurant, named after architect Julia Morgan, is a lovely spot for a romantic Valentine’s Day lunch or dinner (hint hint).

Ticket prices set: Otter Ball event tickets will go on sale very soon – check www.montclairschool.com/otterball for more details. Prices will be:
