MONTCLAIR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WEEKLY NEWSLETTER – OCTOBER 22, 2014 VOL. 10
AN OTTERLY SUCCESSFUL OTTER WALK
Saturday’s Otter Walk was a huge success! What a wonderful way to celebrate our school community with food, fun and dedicated walkers! We want to extend a very special note of appreciation to our Otter Walk Chairs whose tireless dedication and hard work over the past months made this event a wonderful experience: Pilar Strutin-Belinoff, Lauren Disston, Ginger Cook and Sonia Chopra. And of course, the day would not have happened without the terrific support of the best volunteers around – our parent community! To everyone involved, a very big THANK YOU!
The donations deadline is Wednesday, November 5. For more information on collections and next steps for the Otter Walk, please visit our next steps page.

ART OF EDUCATION CAMPAIGN
The Winebow Group and KRIS Wine are pleased to announce the “Art of Education Campaign.” This is the 5th Annual campaign, and once again KRIS Wine will donate a total of $50,000 to support arts education in America’s public schools and arts education advocacy. The program runs September 8 – October 31.
Montclair is currently in 18th place nationally, and only the top 16 schools will receive a grant. Voting is easy.
1) Go to the KRIS Wine Facebook page and click “Like.”
2) Underneath the main banner photo, find the “Art of Education” button.
3) Fill out the form including zip code 94611, and the site will automatically find Montclair Elementary. Click on our school and vote. That’s it. You can vote once per day.
Spread the word to include your friends, parents, uncles, neighbors and you increase the chances of MES winning up to $5,000 for our Arts program. Last year, our votes earned a $1,000 grant! For more information about the grant, please contact Brian Turner at or at (510) 482-3208.
