How will I know what is going on at Montclair Elementary and in my child’s class???

To get on the school and class email lists *you* must log in to Member Hub and add yourself.

Dear Parents and MES Community,

This summer, we are switching over all school communications to Member Hub – including school-wide emails and classroom emails. If your child is returning to Montclair Elementary in the fall and you’re not already on Member Hub, please take a moment to register so you don’t miss any important communications between now and the start of the new school year! We heard your feedback about Big Tent and this new platform is more user friendly. Some key things that we like about it:

The calendar synchs with google calendar!

You can choose to receive text messages instead of or in addition to emails!

Sign ups are included in the events! So no more sign up genius!

You can upload files to your hubs (classes and groups that you are a member of) and email the form out to the class!

You can upload photos!

THE THREE BASICS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

1) How do I sign up?

Go to the Member hub direct link: https://montclair.memberhub.com/hub/Montcl81790

Once you are registered, you can log in on https://app.memberhub.com, or go to http://www.montclairschool.com/about/get-connected/ to find a login page to Member Hub

Once your child is assigned his or her teacher for the school year, you go into Member Hub, under “join open hubs”, select your child’s teacher and join your class. You can also join other subgroups like Dad’s club, 2016 Incoming families for families who are new to Montclair Elementary and AT for families who are in the AT program.

2) How does it work?

You can email hubs through Member Hub, or through email.

Through Member Hub, in your hub, click “messages” on the left hand side of the page, choose your recipients, choose to send the message as an announcement or discussion, “post message”.

Through email, send an email to the hub from your email account. Hubs follow the same basic format:

dad’sclub@discuss.memberhub.com or 2016-incoming-families@discuss.memberhub.com for example.

You *must* use the email you signed up with, or the list will not recognize you and bounce your message.

3) Who will be on the lists?

All teachers will be on the lists but may not choose to get the messages (they can opt for digest, everything, web only).

We are hoping for 100% participation of parents and guardians, since this is the only way for Principal Austin, the PTA, room parents, and even teachers to communicate with parents via email.

All school-wide announcements, Ms. Austin’s monthly emails, and the weekly school-wide newsletter will only be sent through Member Hub.
