PTA MEETING NEXT WEDNESDAY NIGHT
Please plan to attend the first PTA meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 17th, 7-8:30pm in the Multipurpose Room. Join PTA President, Amy Omand, and Principal Nancy Bloom for a conversation about our school. What topics do you want to hear about? Finger ID scanning is underway and we are more than halfway through all of our classes. Thank you to our parent volunteers for helping with the enrollment process. We couldn’t do this without you! For your convenience, you can view the September lunch menu here. Menus are subject to change so keep checking for any changes or updates (Sept 22nd needs an update, for example). Please note that our lunch price has increased to $2.50. Kindergartners will continue to receive free lunches through Friday of this week. For questions please email. OTTER WALK KICK-OFF ASSEMBLY
THIS Friday, September 12th will be the Otter Walk Kick-off Assembly! Your child will learn the theme of this year’s Otter Walk, and he or she will be given a packet of paperwork containing details about the event, a sponsorship form (new this year: collect pledges online!), permission slip, prizes, and more. Please keep an eye out for this packet on Friday evening. And, of course, be sure to save the date for the Otter Walk, which will be on Saturday, October 18th, 8am-4pm.
We are parents (both men and women) of kids at Montclair Elementary School who want to be involved with our school community. We have a wide variety of skills and abilities – some of us are great at fixing things, while others are terrific at leading or helping out with school events. Our Club objectives are: helping at school, fundraising, meeting new parents, networking and having fun. We appreciate everyone’s talents and we welcome new members. MONTERA CAMPUS TOURS
If you are considering Montera for middle school, there will be school tours offered on several Tuesdays and Fridays starting in October. Montera’s new principal, Darren Avent, will be available after the tours to say hello and answer any questions. Come join in the fun of Cub Scouts! We are Pack 296 and we have been serving the Montclair area for over 40 years. We have biking, hiking, camping, ice skating, fishing, and Pinewood Derby racing – to name a few of our activities. Come find out what has made Pack 296 the home for fun, learning, and friendship building at our Recruitment Roundup on Wednesday, September 17th, 6:30-8pm at the Joaquin Miller Library (5525 Ascot Drive, Oakland).
