The next Dads Club Kids’ Night Out is this Friday! The Nut Job! That’s the movie, not the dads running it. Kids get popcorn, pizza, DANCING and a movie. APRIL PTA MEETING
Wednesday, April 9th, 7-8:30pm
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Nettell will be here to share his expertise with our parent community. Has your child been excited to tell you about Mr. Nettell? Want to know why they have “secret handshakes?” Come as see for yourself and learn how we can help strengthen our community by supporting our students, teachers and other. Free childcare will be available for children out of diapers. RSVP to Leslie (). Pizza dinner will be provided for parents too. See attached flyer for more details.
PTA BOARD POSITIONS
If you’d like to get more involved with the school, now’s your chance! There are a number of PTA Board positions opening up in the fall of 2014 and we need dedicated parents like you. This is a great way to meet people and make a meaningful contribution to the school community. For more information, please contact PTA Parliamentarian Russell Robinson or PTA VP of Internal Affairs Wonny Mullen.
OAKLAND A’S TIX
Once again, your Oakland A’s are letting us buy tickets to certain games at a reduced price this year — and the school makes money as well! Simply go to http://athletics.com/montclair, pick your game and order tix. See attached flyer for more information.
The Not Half Bad Band is looking for a rhythm guitar player to add to the talent and mystique that is the Not Half Bad Band. We are a group of parents of Montclair students and alums that entertain the masses at Montclair School during various events throughout the year. The potential recruit must be able to practice once a week, usually on Monday nights, and be able to handle both acoustic and electric guitars. Please contact Jane Nylund at for more info.
PRAISING OUR KITCHEN
Thanks to everyone supporting the Montclair Kitchen by buying lunch or signing up for free or reduced lunches. Keep in mind, prepaying for lunches helps the lunch line move faster. Checks can be made out to “OUSD” and dropped off directly to Velvet in the kitchen between 6:30-11am or 1-2pm, or in the school office between 8am-4pm. Please remember to keep your balance up to date. For your convenience, here is the link (PDF) to April’s lunch menu.
Montclair Elementary mom Laura Baedeker has penned a letter to parents titled In Praise of the Montclair Kitchen. “I used to dread weekday mornings for one reason: lunch,” she writes. “My mornings are now sane again. I can actually sit down with a cup of coffee and read with my daughter instead of staring into the fridge wondering what to make.” Read the rest of Laura’s letter, attached.
